Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program Available Now!

The annual application for the HRSA NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program is now open, with the deadline being February 26, 2015 at 7:30pm Eastern time.  More information can be found here.  Loan repayment is available for RN’s and APN’s working in a public or private nonprofit Critical Shortage Facility OR nurse faculty employed by an accredited school of nursing.  You receive 60 percent of your total outstanding qualifying educational loan balance from your nursing education in exchange for a 2 year service commitment, and you can receive an additional 25 percent if you add an extra year.

The Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program is just one of the many programs that HRSA offers for nurses and nurse practitioners. They offer scholarships (National Health Service Corps, NURSE Corps Scholarship Program), loans (Nursing Student Loans), and loan repayment (National Health Service Corps, NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program, Faculty Loan Repayment Program).  Stay tuned for the next entry where we will be getting to know an NP who received a National Health Service Corps scholarship!

  1. I am wondering if you would kindly add detailed info about starting an NP practice in CA. Thank you,

  2. Thank you for this! I have a significant amount of loans. I am prior Air Force and am considering rejoining the military due to the loan benefits (not the only reason). Any information on this topic is greatly appreciated!!
